Here's what Chris Hughton says about the result on the official web site:

Quote:

Blues boss Chris Hughton
Chris Hughton has saluted his players after seeing them secure a battling 0-0 draw away at C.D. Nacional.
Blues hit the woodwork on no less than three occasions in the Europa League play-off first leg tie at the Estadio Da Madeira and can count themselves extremely unfortunate not to be bringing a lead back to St. Andrew's for the second leg.
"They (C.D. Nacional) are a quality team, and in Europe to get a draw away from home is a good result," said the Blues boss.
"Apart from the woodwork we would have won.
"Nacional were good on the counter and we had to work hard but we had the better clear-cut chances."
Hughton also felt his side gained in confidence as the game progressed.
"We didn't start particularly well but we grew into the game and became more confident," he said.
"We got better as the game went on.
"We have picked up a few injuries recently and I had to change the shape of the team a bit but we have a lot of character and we showed that. Everyone put in a really good shift."
The Blues supporters provided tremendous support for the side in Madeira
The Blues boss also reserved special praise for the 600-or-so supporters that made the long trip over to Madeira to cheer on their side.
"Times are tough financially and I'm sure that it wasn't cheap for the fans who came over here, so we thank them for their fantastic support," he said.
"They were very noisy and we appreciate the efforts they all went to, to come out to Madeira and give us such tremendous backing."
Blues are now in the driving seat when they host C.D. Nacional next Thursday in front of a partisan St. Andrew's crowd and Hughton admits the pressure is on his side to progress to the group stage.
"Nacional have quality but there's a responsibility on us as the home team to go and win the second leg," he added.
"The onus is on us."

in 37 years of support I have never been picked up by anyone for calling Birmingham City Football Club the blues or blues. The pick above says it all IMO.

I thought we were pretty good and deserved to win. Ain't it just wonderful to see us knocking the ball around occasionally? My worry now is that Arsenal might be tempted to come in for Curtis Davies rather than Dann so good was he last night.

Wood was good, Spector wasn't and the rest of 'em can all take credit for a solid performance against a pretty talented team. (Their goalie excepted)

I'd like to thank Alex McLeish for taking his sorry ass to the twilight zone and leaving us alone to enjoy a bit of football.
